About Our School

St. Joseph's is a voluntary aided Roman Catholic middle school for children between the ages of 9 years and 13 years. We are also a Specialist Arts College.

 

There are three classes per year group with an average class size of 27 children. There are 15.2 (FTE) members of staff.

Each class has a form teacher. He or she will take responsibility for the academic and pastoral development of the children. The form teacher will monitor the children's academic progress and behaviour throughout the year and will be the main contact person in the school for the home-school partnership.

The children are taught the programmes of study of the subjects of the National Curriculum and R.E. in mixed ability groups except in maths where there is setting.
