St. Joseph's Parent Teacher Association

The PTA was formed to raise money for the school, and they are very much appreciated. All parents and staff are automatically members. All the money raised by the PTA is to enhance the provision for the children at St. Joseph's.
Last year the PTA raised £10000 to pay for the refurbishment of the art room and the science lab. Both rooms now have state of the art equipment which is used by all the children. The target for fund raising this year is £10000 to help towards the cost of building a music practice room.

Summer Fair
We traditionally have a Summer Fair which takes place at the end of June/ beginning of July. There are some fantastic raffle prizes as well as a cake stall, second hand uniform stall, bric a brac, toy and book stalls.
Christmas Fair
At St.Joseph's we have a Christmas Fair every year. At the Fair we sell sweets, crafts and loads of other related products. We also have a raffle with fantastic prizes. The fair is open to the public and is held in the school hall. This year the Fair took place on 11th December and raised over £800.

Discos
In St. Joseph's we have discos in the autumn and spring terms, usually every three weeks.There is a fixed price of £3.00 which has been agreed by the PTA and the School Council. The pupils really enjoy them will about 100 coming each time. We have a regular DJ who plays all the popular CDs. Some of the discos are themed eg 1970s.
Film Nights
These were new last year and tickets will again cost £3.00. The children can watch newly released DVDs in school between 4.00-6.00pm.
