The parishes together are known as the St.John of Beverley Deanery. The Dean is Fr. Paul Zielinski. For further information about an individual parish or the diocese, please visit the diocesan website: www.rcdhn.org.uk
We held a Deanery Youth Mission (21- 23 May 2007) led by the Diocesan Youth Ministry Team. Their web site is: www.ymt.org
The feedback from the children about the Mission was very positive indeed. Here are a sample of their comments about the Mission:
"Amazing"
"Good fun"
"Thoughtful"
Funny and educational"
"Learning about God can be exciting"
"I will never forget it"
Fr. Zielinski has written a book about Our Lady and St. Cuthbert Church in Prudhoe entitled "The Church That Moved." This is an illustrated local history book about the development of the town and parish up to 2005. Copies are available from local bookshops.

Here is Fr. Zielinski meeting Prince Charles to talk about his book at a lunch at Clarence House, London.
In 2007 Fr. Deegan and Fr. Pyle celebrated their Golden Jubilees as priests. We continue to thank them for their tremendous work as priests in our local parishes.

Fr. Deegan is pictured above with Bishop Kevin and the other priests who concelebrated his Golden Jubilee mass 1st June 2007. He went to Rome as part of his celebrations earlier this year and visited St. Peter's pictured below.

Fr. Pyle concelebrated his Jubilee at a mass at St. John of Beverley, Haydon Bridge on 20th July 2007.
Songs of Praise at Hexham Abbey
In October 2007 fifteen of our choir took part in the recording of the BBC programme Songs of Praise at Hexham Abbey. They sang beautifully and we enjoyed watching the programme on television on 27th January 2008.

The programme was presented by Aled Jones (below) and he was really impressed with Hexham and the surrounding countryside.
