Following on from the National Year of Reading in 2008 we have decided to make 2009-10 the Year of Reading at St. Joseph's. All pupils are expected to read for at least 20 minutes a night and record their reading in their homework diaries. We also encourage them to gain a reading passport. In Y5 and Y6 this entails reading 10 books of different genres and in Y7 and Y8 they have to read 15 books.
We thank all parents for their support.
There are several recommended websites that support reading. They provide some great ideas as to how you can help your child with reading.
